Safety Management System

PSN Water (Formally KBR Water Services Pty Ltd's - KWS) proactive method for improvement which can only be achieved with the willingness of management and staff to be responsible for Health and Safety together, is being achieved in the following ways:

• Safety Advisory Team - meets with management to discuss safety issues.

• Members of the Safety Advisory Team are located at all Depots - undertake safety audits of work sites in conjunction with Supervisors and who meet regularly to discuss any safety issues.

• Incident/Hazard Reporting - the belief that "prevention is the best cure".  Any employee who sees a potential Hazard can easily document it so measures can be taken to fix it.

The formalisation of the Safety Management System has resulted in outstanding results.  The number of LTI's and LTIFR's have been significantly reduced.

The continuing effectiveness of  PSN Water's systems has resulted in the following awards:

• "Eminence in Safety Award" 1998 and the

• "Gold Achiever Award" in 1999, 2001 and 2002.

also from WorkSafe Western Australia the company received a:

• "WorkSafe Plan Platinum Certificate of Achievement" in 2005

• "WorkSafe Plan Gold Certificate of Achievement Extension"  in 2004

• "WorkSafe Plan Gold Certificate of Achievement" in 2001
